A building is a promise made to its street. We begin by learning what the block expects, and what the skyline will allow.

Arrival is a rehearsal. Lobby, elevator, landing, threshold. When the last door opens, the room should feel inevitable.

By dusk the materials stop performing. Marble cools, brass warms, and the city beyond the glass becomes the largest room in the house.

Above the street

Every commission begins in the air. From up here the city is rhythm and weather, setbacks and water tanks, light moving down the avenues.

The approach

Arrival is choreographed long before the door. The street, the awning, the quiet ride up. By the landing, the city has already begun to fall away.

Rooms in low light

Marble from Carrara, oak laid in wide boards, brass left to age. We build rooms for the last hour of the afternoon, when the light comes in low and stays.

And the city looks back

One home, seen from the sky to the sill. The complete project, and the studio behind it, are in the portfolio.
